Docupoint to Use Autodesk® RealDWG™ in Next Generation AutoCAD® Search Product AutoCAD-based DWG™ development tools to power upcoming release of Docupoint Discovery For Immediate Release California, May 23, 2006 - Docupoint today announced that it has licensed the RealDWG development tools from Autodesk for use in the latest generation of Docupoint Discovery. Discovery combines the functionality of a full text search engine, web server and DWF rendition engine into one convenient application for AutoCAD and other office documents. By incorporating the AutoCAD-based RealDWG technology as a core component into Discovery, Docupoint expects to keep pace with new releases of AutoCAD and provide enhanced fidelity to the automatically published DWF and PNG preview image files. Docupoint is releasing the next generation Discovery application with full suppport for AutoCAD 2007 in mid-summer. Docupoint has recoginized the value of Autodesk's DWG technology initiatives and supports the need to protect the content of AutoCAD DWG files from reading and editing with non-supported applications. By using AutoCAD-based "pure" technologies, Docupoint can ensure that Discovery users can protect the value in their DWG archives while providing high fedility DWF (Design Web Format) and PNG (portable network graphics) output files. Steve Potter, President and Founder of Docupoint, said of this new initiative, "I'm ecstatic that we are finally able to incorporate AutoCAD's core file processing technology into our Discovery product. As AutoCAD's file format continues to grow and become more complex continued reliance on third party DWG read tools has proven to be increasingly problematic. By licenses core development tools directly from Autodesk, we can finally get back to focusing on what we do best - to provide the best search engine and publishing application for AutoCAD. I really applaud Autodesk's efforts to make these tools available to members of the Autodesk Developer Program". More information on Autodesk's DWG technology initiatives can be found on the Autodesk website at www.autodesk.com. Docupoint Discovery runs on any Microsoft Window 2000/XP/2003 Server computer as the Discovery web server. Client computers require only a browser and a DWF files viewer such as the FREE Autodesk DWF™ Viewer. More information on Discovery, including a fully functional downloadable demo, can be obtained from Docupoint's web site at http://www.docupoint.com.
