Docupoint returns to DrawingSearcher name for AutoCAD search application

Name change driven by the need to product functionality clearly identifiable to an international audience

Piedmont, CA -- March 06, 2008-- Docupoint today announced the immediate return to the use of the DrawingSearcher™ product name for their flagship AutoCAD search application. Launched in 1998, DrawingSearcher pioneered the use of full text search and automatic DWF publishing in a single, fully integrated, application. The return to the DrawingSearcher name was driven by the need to make the product functionality easily identifiable to prospective end users. Previously, the product name 'Docupoint Discovery' was used.

DrawingSearcher is installed on a single computer to provide web browser based search for AutoCAD drawing files. Automatically generated preview images make it easy to identify the drawing of interest from the search results page. DrawingSearcher is designed for use with the Autodesk Design Review application for viewing, printing and collaboration. Selecting a preview image open generated DWF file for viewing. Drawingsearcher is available in three editions - DWF Publisher, Workgroup and Enterprise, providing a range of functionality and user counts consistent with the customer's needs. Build around the Autodesk RealDWG engine and DWF Toolkit, DrawingSearcher protect the user's investment in DWG files by leverages the core technologies used by AutoCAD. Docupoint customers include Belgian Railways, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Chevron, Citgo Petroleum, Great River Energy, Kraft Foods, Transport Canada, Turner Broadcasting and the US Army.

The DrawingSearcher server application runs on Microsoft Windows XP (client or server) or 2003 Server. Client computers require Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher) and the Autodesk Design Review viewing application for collaboration and mark-up.
